😱Conquer the Sunday Scaries: 5 Strategies for CS Pros
Here are the top 5 ways you can battle sunday scaries as a CSM
Welcome to the Customer Success Pro Newsletter!
Ahhhhhh it’s SUNDAY! 😱
Wait ✋🏽What the weekend is coming to and end already?
As we gear up for another week of delivering exceptional customer experiences, let's address a common challenge that many of us face – the dreaded Sunday Scaries. As a CS Pro, I understand that the anticipation of the week ahead can sometimes cast a shadow over our precious Sundays. But fear not! I've created five effective strategies to help you conquer the Sunday Scaries and start your week on a positive note.
1. Plan Ahead 🗓️
Take some time on Sunday to plan out your upcoming week. Create a to-do list, prioritize tasks, and set achievable goals. By organizing your workload in advance, you'll feel more in control and ready to tackle whatever comes your way. Especially those needy customer calls. Please do not feel the need to work on a Sunday, but rather just tidy up your todo list for the week ahead.
2. Practice Self-Care 🧘♀️
Cliche I know, but it is important. As CSMs we are usually sat infront of our screens all day long. Take some time for self-care activities that rejuvenate and relax you. For me it is going to a yoga class or swimming. Whether it's reading a book, going for a walk, practicing mindfulness, or spending quality time with loved ones, investing in self-care is crucial for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I would highly recommend that you spend some time outdoors, even it is cold, it will help recharge you for the week ahead. By taking care of yourself, you'll be better equipped to handle those difficult calls with customers this coming week.
3. Set Realistic Goals 🎯
Sometimes, the Sunday Scaries stem from setting unrealistic expectations for the week ahead. Let’s be real if you are a CSM reading this newsletter you are already striving to be the best of the best, but remember Rome wasn’t built in a day. Be realistic about what you can achieve within the next few days. Setting achievable goals not only reduces stress but also allows you to make meaningful progress without feeling overwhelmed. Break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps like if you have a big presentation coming up on Wednesday with a customer. Write an outline on Monday morning, send an email to them Monday afternoon with the agenda, review the slides on Tuesday, and practice the slides on Wednesday before your call. If you try to do all of that on Monday morning you will just exhaust yourself before the week even starts.
4. Reflect and Celebrate Wins 🏆
Take a moment to reflect on the victories and successes of the past week. Sometimes we get so caught up in chasing our future todo list we forget to sit down and remember how much we have already accomplished! Celebrate the milestones, big or small, achieved by you and your team. If you gett a chance not only celebrate the wins, but right them down, I promise logging all your wins will help in your next annual review with your boss! This positive reflection not only boosts your mood going into the new week but it also reminds you of the impact your efforts have on your customers and the company. It's a powerful way to kickstart the new week with a sense of accomplishment.
5. Invest in Yourself and Your Career 🚀
Everyday is a school day and if you are trying to learn something new (especially as a CSM) you will always feel like you are progressing in a positive way and the Sunday Scaries will be a thing of the past.
